Digits appear one at a time: decide as quickly as possible whether each is even or odd.
This is a solo practice run: your results stay in this browser tab and are never sent anywhere. To contribute to a class result, join a live session with a code instead.
This task is new to Classperiment and has not yet been fully tested. Issues may occur in the procedure or scoring. The expected effect may also fail to appear reliably.
Task time: 4–6 min; slow up to about 9
In each trial a digit appears in the middle. Decide as quickly and as accurately as possible whether it is even or odd.
One of the two answers belongs to the left side, the other to the right. The task has two parts; after the first part the assignment switches. Before each part you see the assignment and practise 8 trials with feedback.
On a laptop: left index finger on F, right index finger on J – please do not use the mouse. On a phone: hold it upright with both hands and tap the left field with your left thumb and the right field with your right thumb.
There are 160 trials in all. The whole task takes about 5 minutes.
Which side is even and which is odd is shown before each part.
