A shape appears in the middle: indicate as quickly as you can whether it is a square or a diamond.
This is a solo practice run: your results stay in this browser tab and are never sent anywhere. To contribute to a class result, join a live session with a code instead.
This task is new to Classperiment and has not yet been fully tested. Issues may occur in the procedure or scoring. The expected effect may also fail to appear reliably.
Task time: 4–5 min; slow up to about 9
A shape keeps appearing in the middle: a square or a diamond (a square standing on its tip). Indicate as quickly and accurately as you can which shape you see: F for the square, J for the diamond – keep one index finger on F and one on J, and do not answer with the mouse or touchpad. On a phone or tablet, tap the left or the right field below the picture; keep one finger ready over each field (on a phone, both thumbs). The shape stays until you answer, at most 1.5 seconds; the first press counts.
You start with 8 practice trials with feedback. Then come two parts of 84 trials each with a short break in between. The whole task takes about 4 minutes.
8 practice trials, then 2 parts of 84 trials each
