Decide quickly whether the second of two strings is a real word in the task language
This is a solo practice run: your results stay in this browser tab and are never sent anywhere. To contribute to a class result, join a live session with a code instead.
This task is new to Classperiment and has not yet been fully tested. Issues may occur in the procedure or scoring. The expected effect may also fail to appear reliably.
Task time: about 3.5 min
You will briefly see two strings of letters, one after the other. Decide only for the second string whether it is a real word.
Look at the plus sign in the middle. First a word appears briefly, then the string you respond to. Choose Word if this second string is a real word. Choose Nonword if it is not a real word. Respond as fast and as accurately as you can. There is nothing to remember.
Place one finger on F for Word and one on J for Nonword.
Task language: English. Please take part if you recognise ordinary words in this language well.
First come 12 practice trials with feedback. Then 96 test trials follow.
