Search for a given face among other faces and decide whether it is there
This is a solo practice run: your results stay in this browser tab and are never sent anywhere. To contribute to a class result, join a live session with a code instead.
This task is new to Classperiment and has not yet been fully tested. Issues may occur in the procedure or scoring. The expected effect may also fail to appear reliably.
Task time: 3–5 min; slow up to about 6
You search for a given face among other faces and decide whether it is there.
Before each block you see the face you are looking for. Then several faces appear on a light field. Decide as quickly and accurately as possible whether the face is among them: “Present” or “Absent”. Answer with the two answer fields below the field or with the keys F and J; tapping or clicking a face does nothing. Which side means “Present” is shown before the practice.
First you practise 8 times with the solution shown. Then 4 blocks of 16 trials follow, with a break between the blocks. At the end you can give your impression of two faces. In a classroom session, the explanation and results appear after the instructor releases them.
For this task you need to see and tell apart the face symbols. You can skip the task.
