Judge unfamiliar symbols as rather pleasant or rather unpleasant
The task contains pleasant and unpleasant pictures of everyday scenes, animals and nature.
This is a solo practice run: your results stay in this browser tab and are never sent anywhere. To contribute to a class result, join a live session with a code instead.
This task is new to Classperiment and has not yet been fully tested. Issues may occur in the procedure or scoring. The expected effect may also fail to appear reliably.
Task time: 3–5 min; slow up to about 7
You will briefly see a photograph or a grey square, followed by an unfamiliar symbol. Judge only the symbol: does it look more pleasant or more unpleasant to you? There is no correct answer. Respond with your first impression when the black-and-white pattern appears. The preceding image may influence your impression; try to base your answer only on the symbol. There are six practice trials and two sections of 30 trials. In a classroom session, the explanation and results appear after the instructor releases them.
Answer with F and J or with the two answer fields under the picture frame. Which side stands for rather pleasant is shown before the practice.
Two symbols of the kind you will judge:
6 practice trials, then 60 trials in 2 sections
